Job Presentation

Providing technical guidance and expertise on integrating LEGO activities in NFE programs.

Scope of work The consultant will be responsible for providing technical guidance, designing LEGO activities, and mapping available LEGO activities with the education curriculums applicable in Makani centers (ECE, BLN, ABLN, YBLN). By elaborating pedagogical framework and hands-on activities, he/she will ensure LEGO activities are flexible and accessible for CWD and children with high abilities offering stimulating and engaging activities for their advanced skills. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for designing LEGO SEL curriculum. Having elaborated the frameworks and the activities, the consultant will conduct master training for Makani partners.

Deliverables The consultant is expected to support the MFP unit with the development of the optimum ways of integrating LEGO through education programs under Makani.  It is also expected that the consultant will employ skills of adaptability and flexibility in designing activities accessible for all children including CWD and children with high abilities leaving no one behind.

He/she is expected to be self-driven, results-oriented, and focused on delivering tangible outcomes.

Deliverables include but are not limited to the following:

– Conduct a desk review of available LEGO booklets and resources, that could be invested in the education and SEL programs implemented in Makani centers.

– Compile/develop a set of LEGO activities or update any existing ones, linking them to NFE curriculums applicable in Makani centers.

– Developing a set of SEL LEGO activities to be implemented in NFE programs based on the SEL national framework.

– Ensuring activities are accessible to CWD and providing guidance on flexibility and accessibility where necessary.

– Elaborating best practices and methods to identify and engage all children in LEGO activities.

– Map all the above-mentioned achievements and elaborate relevant guidelines and/or handbooks.

– Design a methodology for the implementation of the guidelines.

– Develop an action plan and conduct the master training for Makani partners. Profile

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  Education:

• The consultant must have at least a postgraduate degree or equivalent preferably in Education, inclusive education, or psychology.

  Technical knowledge:

• Strong technical background in pedagogy, curriculum design, ludo pedagogy, and inclusive education.

• Knowledge of educational approaches.

• Strong understanding of LEGO programs especially learning through play.

• Experience in/familiarity with non-formal education programs.

   Work experience and related skills:

• At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of educational projects.

• At least 3 years of experience in implementing LEGO programs within formal or non-formal education settings.

• Experience in working with a variety of development actors and stakeholders.

• Experience in designing learning materials and resources.

• Experience in designing capacity development materials for teachers and facilitators.

• Experience in facilitating LEGO training.

• Strong training & facilitation skills.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to travel to project areas.

   Language Requirements:

• High proficiency in oral and written Arabic, and English is required.
